When a “healthy home” designer show house is unveiled here later this month, some of the featured products will be fashionable porcelain tile and natural stone donated by Florida Tile.
The house is part of Healthy Home 2010: Designer Showcase & Tour, presented by Healthy Child Healthy World in partnership with Dior Builders, Kohler and Cambria. It is intended to set a benchmark in stylish green design with a focus on indoor air quality.
According to Sean Cilona, Director of Marketing for Florida Tile, “We were pleased with the breadth of Florida Tile product selected for the project, Fontana, Renaissance, Mexican Travertine and Taconic Slate.”
Fontana is a glazed porcelain tile for floors and walls. Soft yet dramatic in its look, Fontana combines the dramatic veining of marble with the shifting color of slate.
Renaissance is an elegant, classic porcelain tile portfolio with the lavish look of marble, featured in high gloss ceramic wall tile and a satin porcelain field tile.
Mexican Travertine, is a natural stone selected by Florida Tile for its enduring beauty and sophistication and rectified (perfected edges) for a tailored installation.
Taconic Slate, is a luxury porcelain floor and ceramic wall tile collection reflecting the tradition and the natural beauty of slate from the mountains of New England.
“We were pleased to be involved,” Cilona said, “because the nature of the project dovetails so well with our own message of environmental responsibility and fashion.”

Healthy Child Healthy World is a national, nonprofit 501(c) 3 organization that inspires parents to protect young children from harmful chemicals. The organization exists because more than 125 million Americans, predominantly children, now face a historically unprecedented rise in chronic diseases and illnesses such as cancer, autism, asthma, allergies, birth defects, ADHD, obesity, diabetes, and learning and developmental disabilities. Credible scientific evidence increasingly points to environmental hazards and household chemicals as causing and contributing to many of these diseases. Healthy Child Healthy World aims to educate parents, support protective policies and engage communities to make responsible decisions, simple everyday choices and well-informed lifestyle improvements to create healthy environments where children and families can flourish.
